Full Job Description
Role Purpose

LevelTen Energy is looking for a highly motivated, results-driven sales professional to recruit new utilities to subscribe to LevelTen Energy's complete range of data solutions. As Account Executive, Utilities, your focus will be growing our book of utility data subscribers, building strong relationships with the origination, resource planning, and corporate strategy professionals who drive utility decision-making, and laying the groundwork for these accounts to grow into LevelTen's broader transactional marketplace over time. Our sales team combines deep product and industry knowledge with a commitment to understand our clients' unique challenges and deliver innovative solutions. A LevelTen Account Executive is a brand ambassador, and a crucial part of the growth of the company.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify and build relationships with key utilities, including investor-owned utilities (IOUs), municipal utilities, and rural electric cooperatives, with a focus on those operating in states with strong RPS requirements and appetite for clean energy.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive account strategies that are aligned with customer goals, working closely with internal teams to ensure successful execution.
  • Lead full sales cycles from prospect to close of platform data subscription sales, with a goal of achieving an annual ARR target within the utility segment, while identifying opportunities to land-and-expand these accounts into LevelTen's transactional marketplace over time.
  • Cement LevelTen's market-leading position within the utility community by attending industry events, networking with regulatory affairs, integrated resource planning, and procurement professionals, as well as cultivating long-term partnerships that solidify LevelTen as the preferred source for clean energy market data.
  • Maintain expertise in the evolving regulatory and political landscape driving utility demand for clean energy market data, including RPS requirements and state-level mandates, championing your customers' needs within the company.
  • Build and maintain a clean and accurate pipeline, including consistent updates and accurate forecasts in the company's CRM system.
  • Represent utilities' interests with marketing, product, and executive teams, influencing our go-to-market strategy.
  • Travel up to 30% of the time
Qualifications

Required:
  • 4+ years as a closer in enterprise sales, with a consistent record of quota attainment
  • Experience selling energy-related products, data, or web-based SaaS to utilities, traders and/or other key wholesale power market participants
  • Working fluency in how utilities plan, procure, and transact for power; enough to hold a credible conversation with a resource planner or an originator
  • Discipline in CRM use, pipeline hygiene, and accurate forecasting
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, both in-person and virtually
  • Ability to thrive in a constantly changing and evolving work environment

Strongly Preferred:
  • Direct experience in origination, IRP and resource planning, corporate energy procurement, and/or power trading
  • Experience selling analytics or market data subscriptions, as opposed to transactional or project-based products
  • Familiarity with an established sales methodology such as MEDDPICC or Challenger
