Overview

As the Account Development Manager on the Lifestyle Products and Services team in AARP Services, Inc., you will oversee the management of the day-to-day activities for our auto, gas and retail account provider relationship programs and associated contracts including identifying improvements and assessing outcomes. As the primary point of contact for provider relationships, you will ensure their growth and development, foster strong and ongoing relationships to maintain the health and success of our products and programs. You will have responsibility for implementing new engagement programs and relationships that align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives that are shared with AARP/AARP Services, Inc. (ASI) and provider-partners impacting increased membership value, supporting membership acquisition and renewal.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all provider/partner activities including those within AARP Services and the organization. Manages the day-to-day provider relationship and activities to ensure success of the product/program.
  • Ensures program growth including revenue, member value and product enhancement opportunities through annual account plan development.
  • Manages the ongoing quality control of programs and assures compliance with all contract terms including review process of the program and provider/partner, oversight of marketing plans, product operational plans, and product enhancement.
  • Manages or participates in provider contract renegotiations in the portfolio for the products/programs offered to the organization's members.
  • Influences matrix to optimize program functions, including strategic account planning and growth.
  • Works with the providers on the development of a continuous improvement process for all program and product categories.
  • Collaborates with the leadership to set strategic direction for the program and program development
  • Completes periodic competitive assessments of program or products in order to monitor relative value within the marketplace and identifies the features and competitive advantages versus the competition.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field and 5+ years of experience in account management, partnerships, business development, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of managing and growing multiple accounts, ideally across retail, dining, auto/gas, or similar consumer sectors; strong interest in learning new categories.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, translate insights into actionable recommendations, and support growth initiatives.
  • Experience contributing to strategic planning and execution. Proactive, solutions-oriented and results-driven, with the ability to take initiative, adapt and be flexible to evolving changes in business priorities and ultimately drive work forward.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to receive, apply, and grow from feedback, with a coachable mindset and openness to continuous learning and development.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% as needed.
