Description

The University of Chicago's Adult Epilepsy Center in the Department of Neurology is seeking board certified/board eligible academic epileptologists to join its faculty as the Neuroscience program continues to expand. Appointees will participate in activities of the Adult Epilepsy Center, which include an inpatient epilepsy monitoring unit, intraoperative monitoring, and outpatient and inpatient EEG. Other duties include teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications. Appointees will join the Center's existing group of epileptologists, neurosurgeons, and neuroscientists at University of Chicago Medicine, which includes a growing neurosciences service line with the opportunity to practice at locations both on and outside of our main campus in Hyde Park.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) have completed a residency program in neurology accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, 3) be fellowship trained in Epilepsy and/or Clinical Neurophysiology, including advanced EEG monitoring and surgical evaluation, 4) be board certified or eligible in neurology, and 5) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois.
