Full Job Description
The position provides overall managerial and administrative leadership to operate one or more restaurants in Kirkland, Washington. This is the top manager in the designated restaurant(s),and is accountable for the restaurant and operation at all times,whether physically present or not. This person directs the work of team members,both managers and crew. The General Manager exercises discretion and independent judgment in performing his or her duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Responsible for managing the restaurant, including oversight over all operations from production to guest service areas; directs the work of team members, both managers and crew
2. Provides leadership to ensure restaurant meets performance expectations
3. Elevate, coach and role model McDonald's guest and service experience; responsible for overall guest satisfaction
4. Proactively manage people processes: (a) recruit, interview, hire and onboard managers and crew; (b) assess the work of managers and crew and provide performance feedback/evaluation and assign training/development plans; (c) make decisions as needed to support hiring, and employee status changes such as promotions or terminations
5. Provide an environment that fosters continuous employee development, learning and teamwork; set the example through coaching and personal development planning
6. Proactively builds Business Plans with clear goals and actions to address issues, risks and opportunities; establish and reinforce brand loyalty and strengthen our engagement with the surrounding community
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plan and control the budget
2. Assess inventory management performance and oversee food costs; approve inventory forecasts and ordering plans providing guidance to Assistant General Manager
3. Elevate, coach and role model McDonald's guest and service experience; responsible for overall guest satisfaction
4. Proactively manage people processes: (a) recruit, interview, hire and onboard managers and crew; (b) assess the work of managers and crew and provide performance feedback/evaluation and assign training/development plans; (c) make decisions as needed to support hiring, and employee status changes such as promotions or terminations
5. Provide an environment that fosters continuous employee development, learning and teamwork; set the example through coaching and personal development planning
6. Proactively builds Business Plans with clear goals and actions to address issues, risks and opportunities; establish and reinforce brand loyalty and strengthen our engagement with the surrounding community
7. Establishes controls as necessary to meet company guidelines; monitors and implements legal compliance measures in the restaurant
8. Coach team members to embrace new procedures, approaches and technologies that enable McDonald's to operate great restaurants
9. Ensure restaurant resources are allocated appropriately to maintain optimal operational effectiveness and efficiency at all times
10. Other duties as assigned
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School or GED required
• Demonstrated experience leading a team in a fast-paced managed environment
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor team with professional maturity
• Must possess strong business acumen, be independently motivated, assertive, and possess ability to delegate effectively
• Achievement oriented with strong organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Strong oral & written communication skills; English language proficiency; an ability to communicate in a second language
• 1-3 years customer service management experience
• Ability to work full time with variable hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays
