Position Details
• Position Start Date: As soon as possible
• Salary/Wage: $77,000 - $85,000
• Terms/Schedule: 210-day contract
• Appointment Type: Full-Time
• Schedule Note: This position allows for flexible scheduling to accommodate irregular hours inherent to athletic administration (e.g., event supervision, special activities, summer weight room and contact days). Total service days will be tracked in partnership with the supervisor against the 210-day obligation, allowing for maximal schedule adjustments during high-intensity weeks to promote work-life balance.

The Ripon Area School District is seeking qualified candidates for an Activities and Athletics Coordinator position at the Middle and High School levels to join our team in serving students at the Secondary level.

Position Summary: The Ripon Area School District is seeking a dynamic leader to coordinate and elevate our 6-12 activities and athletic programs. Reporting directly to the High School Principal in consultation with the Middle School Principal, the successful candidate will drive program success through a commitment to student-athlete engagement and participation, operational efficiency in pursuit of excellence, and a "one program" philosophy that seamlessly connects middle and high school systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilities Management: Schedule and manage facilities access for district athletic and activity events, competitions, and practices.
  • Transportation Coordination: Coordinate transportation for athletics and activities with both school resources, bus company, and community partners.
  • Event Management: Oversee staffing, organization for athletic and activity events and competitions while ensuring safe and supportive practices with the District Safety Team.
  • Staff Coordination: Recruit, hire and provide ongoing support and coordination for athletic and activities staff. Including both advocacy and appropriate ongoing professional development.
  • Program Leadership & System Development: Build and nurture a cohesive 6-12 athletic program. Ensure middle school programs are aligned with high school philosophies and that transition processes for student-athletes are socially and academically supportive and opportunities to connect and align coaching staff is provided.
  • Operational Excellence & Sustainability: Oversee strength and conditioning program commitment and consistency and that staff embrace both in and off-season training cultures as critical drivers of success. Implement sustainability policies for extracurriculars, including advocacy for resources and support in growing programs and when necessary, probationary periods and processes for activities with declining participation.
  • Compliance & Safety Management: Manage all compliance requirements for WIAA and other allied sanctioning organizations, including student attendance, academic progress, registration and coaching certifications (rules clinics, concussion training, sudden cardiac arrest, CPR/AED, etc.)
  • Strategic Planning & Budgeting: Develop and maintain a long-term strategic plan for the department, focusing on student opportunity, equity, and facility needs. Manage budgets with transparency, overseeing items such as uniform rotation policies, monitoring activity accounts, NIL, community partnerships, and outside donations.
  • Family & Community Partnerships: Act as a skilled communicator both verbally and written and active listener for families. Partner with coaches, advisors and administration to host necessary meetings to establish clear expectations regarding the code of conduct, program vision and specific expectations for all programs and activities.
  • Student-Athlete Wellness: Collaborate with school mental health staff and trainers to partner with coaches and advisers to implement support plans and raise awareness of mental health resources for students.
