About the Role
We're seeking a skilled and experienced Vehicle Technician to join our team and support the readiness of a cutting-edge fleet of autonomous vehicles. In this role, you'll perform diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, and fleet reworks, ensuring the safety and efficiency of vehicles in our workshop. You'll also help maintain shop operations, parts, and tools, while collaborating with engineering and operations teams. Responsibilities - Daily Expectations for Your Role
  • Perform high-quality repairs, inspections, and diagnostics on fleet vehicles, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Conduct multi-point inspections, system checks, and create diagnostic test plans as needed.
  • Serve as a Quality Control (QC) specialist by inspecting and testing completed work.
  • Travel locally to configure, maintain, and sign off on vehicles for safe on-road usage.
  • Sync with the Shop Foreman to ensure all vehicles are ready for demonstrations, testing, and operations.
  • Assist in maintaining parts, tools, and equipment inventory, keeping the workshop organized and operational.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely, following PPE standards and regulations (OSHA, hazardous waste guidelines, etc.).
  • Collaborate with internal teams and business partners to deliver an excellent service experience.

Qualifications - What It Takes

Minimum Requirements:
  • 2-4 years of automotive technician experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair techniques, tools, and materials.
  • Clean driving record with excellent driving habits.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects efficiently.
  • Reliable self-starter with a proactive, "roll up the sleeves" work ethic.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and sit/stand for long periods (8+ hours).
  • Forklift and/or gantry operation experience with current certification compliant with Cal/OSHA.
  • Must pass a background check, MVR, and drug screen; comply with Substance Abuse Policy.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in Automotive Repair.
  • ASE certification and/or manufacturer certification.
  • High-level diagnostic experience with:
  • HV systems and hybrid drivetrains
    1. CAN/LIN communication systems
    2. HVAC, cooling, chassis, and suspension systems
  • Familiarity with Linux-based systems for diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of fleet optimization and OEM maintenance processes.
  • Experience working with embedded modules, self-driving systems, and sensor stacks.
  • Ability to travel locally and nationally, as needed.
