Job Description:

Caterpillar is seeking a Fabrication Production Manager in Athens, GA. In this role, you will oversee and coordinate the activities of a more complex production line, prepares schedules, resolves issues, and ensures adherence to safety and quality standards.

What you can look forward to in this role:
  • Run a small business unit for People, Quality, Velocity, and Cost
  • Monitors and improves shop floor safety, aggressively eliminates unsafe processes
  • Assures fixtures, tooling and processes are followed to meet production schedules
  • Determines priorities and sequences jobs
  • Schedules and prioritizes constrained resources, and adjusts staffing to meet flow and customer requirements
  • Determines and executes disciplinary action when appropriate
  • Procures and distributes production material to meet schedules
  • Ensures preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule
  • Implements, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Internal Certification and others
  • Evaluates, assess, identifies and leads the deployment of workforce training
  • Practices and teaches CPS Guiding Principles
  • Initiates and conducts process improvement dialogs with Team Leads and Team Members
  • Drives root cause corrective action projects and drives continuous improvement
  • Leads section status reporting and monitors / audits section metrics
  • Leads the creation, implementation and training of standard work procedures

  • Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing related field
  • Experience in multiple manufacturing support disciplines.
  • Experience managing teams to production, budgetary, and efficiency targets.

Summary Pay Range:

$81,370.00 - $122,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
