The William Blair Fund Placement team advises private market managers throughout the capital raising process, transaction execution, and the delivery of fundraising services to clients and prospects. We perform extensive fundraising advisory services and complete due diligence activities while working closely with the project management and distribution teams to advance projects, gather necessary information, convey relevant investor updates and present findings to clients.
Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
- Take ownership of deal admin related tasks, such as maintaining deal trackers, scheduling investor calls, and updating Salesforce
- Provide advice to clients on fundraising strategy, structuring, timing, investors, and legal terms
- Assist in the development, production and delivery of proposals and presentations to clients and prospects
- Actively participate in client meetings and internal discussions
- Anticipate potential deal issues and pass concerns through to team members in real time
- Evaluate prospective fundraising clients
- Partner with global coverage teams
- Demonstrate curiosity and understanding of the various private market strategies
- Demonstrate an understanding of broader fundraising markets and potential implications to each client process
- Manage client data rooms
- Identify improvements to processes and propose solutions to complete tasks more efficiently
- Mentor summer interns and invest in teaching subsequent classes of analysts, imparting best practices
- Ensure all activities are in compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Additional responsibilities as requested
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required with an anticipated graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027
- Internship or prior work experience in financial services industry preferred
- Proven track record in university studies required
- SIE Exam, prior to beginning employment, and Series 7 and Series 63 within 90 days of employment
- Detail oriented with strong analytical abilities
- Excellent mathematical, writing, verbal and computer skills
- Critical thinking with problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to new tasks with little notice
- Ability to manage expectations of senior bankers while working on multiple projects simultaneously

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range at time of posting is below. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Actual base salary within the specified range is based on several factors, including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, specific degrees and certifications, job responsibilities, market considerations and, if applicable, the location of the position.
This role is eligible for either a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance) and/or commission-based incentives.
