Job Description:

The Management Associate, US Graduate Program is a 2-year direct to impact development program that will accelerate your potential and place you at the center of a real-world transformational challenge, aimed at bettering the lives of the customers, colleagues, and communities we serve.


This role provides specialized analytics, insights and research and/or execution on projects and special initiatives. This role demonstrates and develops day-to-day leadership with meaningful contributions to the overall strategy within functional area. This role may interact directly / indirectly with partners and clients as required. This program is designed to attract, develop, and retain top talent within TD. After successful completion of this program, colleagues will be supported into their next role at TD.

Depth & Scope:

  • Requires substantial knowledge / expertise in a complex field and knowledge of broader related areas
  • Integrates knowledge of the organization's sub-functions or business lines overarching strategy in developing solutions across multiple functions or operations
  • Interprets internal/external business challenges and the industry environment, recommends course of action and best practices to improve products, processes or services
  • Acts as a technical expert / lead integrating cross-function understanding within their own field of specialty; may manage team(s) of related specialists
  • Leads cross-functional teams or projects with significant resource requirements, risk and/or complexity
  • Independently manages end-to-end functional programs
  • Solves or may lead others to solve complex problems; leads efforts or partners with others to develop new solutions

Education & Experience:

  • Graduate Degree in related field
  • Recent (within the last 2 years) MBA graduate with technically focused Undergraduate degree (i.e., STEM), OR Recent technically focused Masters graduate (i.e., Analytics, Innovation, Digital area, etc.) with business Undergraduate degree
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, a history of delivering strong results, and high aspirations and motivation for career progression to senior leadership roles

Customer Accountabilities:

  • Completes business objectives set together with leadership as outlined at the start of the program
  • Develops detailed, accurate, and timely research and reporting supported by insightful commentary
  • Conducts internal and external research projects; support the development / delivery of presentations / communications to management or broader audience
  • Conducts meaningful analysis at the functional or broader organizational level using results to draw conclusions, make recommendations, assess the effectiveness of programs / policies / practices
  • Identifies/implements process improvements to automate, streamline, and increase analysis and decisions
  • Represents business on cross-functional/cross-product working groups, projects, and forums
  • Works with key business partners on strategic initiatives
  • Liaisons between internal stakeholders and external advisors, where appropriate
  • Manages and prioritizes multiple projects, working with discretion and confidentiality
  • Advises and presents senior management and influence decisions
  • Invests in personal development and growth
  • May be customer/client facing, and may be required to provide solutions for escalated inquiries or concerns

Shareholder Accountabilities:

  • Adheres to organizational frameworks or methodologies that relate to activities for our business area
  • Ensures respective programs / policies / practices are well managed, meets business needs / priorities, and complies with internal/external requirements
  • Consistently exercises discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalates issues where appropriate
  • Ensures business operations are in compliance with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals and physical control of assets)
  • Protects the interests of the organization  identifies and manages risks, and escalates non-standard, high risk activities as necessary
  • Participates in cross-functional / enterprise / initiatives as a subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situations
