The Aerospace Corporation is hiring aUnity Developerfor the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD). Position will be full-time, onsite at our office inEl Segundo, CA.

Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) staff couple the latest in information system technologies, such as elastic compute clouds, containerization, microservices, real-time operating systems, and visualization frameworks, with expertise in cyber security, software architecture, software engineering, data science, Artificial Intelligence, process improvement, and software development to deliver responsive, resilient, high-performance software intensive systems to our Intelligence Community, DoD, and civilian customers.

Job Summary

The qualified candidate will become part of theEngineering Applications Department (EAD)whose focus is on developing innovative tools and applications to support civil, commercial, and national security space systems. From virtual and augmented reality, to web, cloud, and desktop visualizations; EAD evaluates and creates unique visual experiences that present data and analysis to key decision makers. Position will be responsible for working with the team to transform complex engineering prototypes and concepts into modern animations and gaming applications.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Provide support to developers and artists to add assets and functionality to existing space applications

  • Directly contribute to the setup and design of new projects that can be deployed to multiple platforms 6 Windows, Linux, VR/AR headsets

  • Assist in streamlining backend data tools into game engine interfaces/applications

  • Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and/or cooperatively within a team

  • Assist in the development of immersive technology applications to enhance collaboration and understanding of space concepts

  • Learn and grow through new work opportunities, training, and mentorship from experienced staff

What You Need to be Successful

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Game Design, or STEM related program, pursuing or conferring within 12 months

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

  • Academic knowledge and/or project experience related to Unity Game Engine development

  • General understanding and familiarity with version control software

  • Ability to code using C#, C++, or Python programming languages

  • Knowledge with game development principles and 3D graphics concepts

  • Good written and verbal communications skills

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple projects at once

  • Willingness to travel approx. 15% domestically to support customer needs

  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance

How You Can Stand Out

  • Advanced degree

  • Active security clearance (DoD/Secret)

  • Familiarity with C++, Qt, OpenGL, or WebGL

  • Experience in developing AR/VR experiences
