Thermal Test Engineer (Associate Engineer Mechanical or Mechanical Engineer) with electronics and mechanical skill set to support thermal vacuum and cycle testing of complex flight and development hardware. Preferred candidate will be a self-starter able to work independently or in small teams. This position will be located in
Redondo Beach, California.
Typical duties include:
Create drawings, procedures and technical documentation in support of Thermal Cycle and Thermal Vacuum testing of complex space hardware
Lead unit level thermal tests through requirements development, procedure generation, test execution, and test closeout

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Ability to work well within a team of engineers and technicians
Active DoD clearance desired
Previous experience working with space hardware
Familiarity with thermal test chambers and processes
Experience with operating LabVIEW applications
Understanding of complex electro mechanical hardware
Ability to design test fixtures
Ability to create test request, test plans, and test procedures
Primary Level Salary Range: $69,400.00 - $104,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
