Full Job Description
The Medway Public Schools is seeking a School Counseling Coordinator for the [redacted] school year. Performance Responsibilities
  • Meet consistently with school counselors to assess the professional development needs of school counselors.
  • Ensure regularly scheduled professional development and consultation for the continuous improvement and vertical alignment of the school counseling program, including the alignment with the current models of best practice, such as the Massachusetts Model for Comprehensive School Counseling, MyCap, and the ASCA model.
  • Work collaboratively with school counselors and clinicians to ensure ongoing professional learning and training to promote best practices.
  • Oversee 504 development and implementation, and chair necessary 504 meetings.
  • Lead building-based Student Support Team meetings.
  • Provide clinical supervision if applicable to background and licensure.
  • Implement a district-wide vertically aligned social and emotional multisystem of support, which includes entrance and exit criteria, progress monitoring, and a data-driven referral process.
  • Support school adjustment counselors(s), social worker(s), school psychologist(s), and other supplemental counseling providers in the coordination and implementation of adjustment services within a tiered system of support.
  • Partner with the Director of Wellness on the implementation of programs for students and parents and the implementation of wellness-related surveys, programs, focus groups, and other social/emotional initiatives.
  • Provide consultation on the Student Support Team meetings, PK-4
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the principal and/or Superintendent
Education and Experience:
  • A valid MA certification as a school counselor, school adjustment counselor, school psychologist, or school social worker.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years in a school counseling/clinician role with leadership experience within an educational institution.
  • Master's Degree representing intensive course work in the principles and practice of educational guidance, educational testing and measurement, counseling, organization, and administration of guidance services, and the psychology of learning
  • Administrative and/or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the superintendent or school committee may find appropriate and acceptable.
