Job Overview

Manage the efforts of supervisors and hourly personnel covering various departments over three shifts. Is responsible for administering and controlling productive labor, variable overhead and OVC budgets. Is responsible for efficient use, operation and preservation of production facilities in the Peoria plant.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and an environmentally friendly work place for employees and visitors. (ISO14001).
  • Responsible for quality of output as delivered to other production areas, service parts and/or customers.
  • Manage efforts to achieve established production goals. Monitor progress and adjust efforts accordingly. Develop and implement programs to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Initiate increases or decreases in manpower. Interview and select qualified hourly employees and oversee their training.
  • Work with plant manager on problems or potential problems beyond his control which affect his ability to produce quality product in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments whose work affects his operation while giving them timely notice of his requirements.
  • Administer union/management agreement on shop floor to maintain a sound working relationship with bargaining unit employees.
  • Keep abreast of technological developments through professional organizations, trade shows, seminars and other activities as needed.
  • Support ISO9002 quality and ISO14001 environmental efforts in areas of responsibility.
  • Support the company's EEO efforts and take appropriate actions to prevent harassment of employees.


Qualifications/Requirements

  • Four-year degree in related field or equivalent work experience in similar manufacturing environment.
  • Quality of effort to achieve efficiency, utilization, and productivity goals for departments of responsibility.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment in all department of responsibility.
  • Maintain effective communication with the bargaining unit.
  • Minimize the degree of scrap and re-operation in departments managed.
  • Maintain effective communication with other members of management.


Additional Information

Hiring Range

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $105,600 - $132,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
