Full Job Description
Who We Are Looking For:

Phoenix Tailings is looking for a Senior Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment. This role will be instrumental in shaping our financial infrastructure as we scale production and operations and has the potential to grow into an Accounting Manager role with that growth. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting fundamentals, hands-on NetSuite expertise, and a builder's mindset to streamline and optimize our financial systems for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Accounting: Analyze manufacturing costs, establish overhead rates, track job costing for accurate product profitability. Will also oversee cost accounting on sponsored grants.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory valuation, monitor cycle counts, and manage reserves for excess or obsolete inventory.
  • Financial Reporting: Manage journal entries, reconciliations and other close activities. Prepare and analyze financial data and provide insightful commentary to key constituents to support strategic decision-making.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls, improve processes, and implement change initiatives, as needed to strengthen financial reporting and compliance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance and operational teams, production, purchasing, and supply chain departments to ensure proper reporting.
  • Audits: Assist with audits, tax filings, and other external reporting requirements.
  • Growth Mindset: Support scaling financial processes and systems to meet the company's rapid growth trajectory.

This pay range reflects best estimate for the total cash compensation which includes salary + discretionary bonus for this role. Total package may vary based on experience and qualifications.

Pay Range: $90,000- $130,000 total cash compensation plus equity
