About the RoleHello, RNs! Ampersand Therapy is seeking a Private Duty School Nurse (PDN) to deliver 1:1 nursing support for a student with medical needs in a school setting in Aurora, CO. In this role, you'll provide individualized medical care throughout the school day, helping a student safely access their education while supporting their health, safety, and overall well-being.
This is an excellent opportunity for nurses interested in pediatrics, school-based care, or making a lasting impact through consistent, student-centered support. You'll collaborate closely with school teams, families, and healthcare providers to help students thrive.
What You'll Do- Provide 1:1 nursing support for a student with medical needs throughout the school day
- Monitor and manage chronic medical conditions and student health needs
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and care plans
- Respond to health concerns and emergencies while following school safety protocols
- Maintain accurate health documentation and ensure compliance with medical plans
- Collaborate closely with families, school staff, related service providers, and medical teams
- Support student participation, safety, and access within the educational environment
- Participate in IEP and 504 meetings as appropriate
What We're Looking For- Active Colorado State RN license
- School Nursing CDE endorsement (or willingness to obtain) preferred
- Ability to pass fingerprinting and background check
- Pediatric, school nursing, or medically complex care experience preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and compassion
