Summary

The Lead Engineer, Manufacturing Equipment is responsible for the development and/or sourcing of manufacturing equipment to support manufacturing operations goals. Scope of job may include design and development of equipment, qualification, deployment to manufacturing, improving performance and supporting programs to optimize efficiencies while maintaining a safe working environment.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
  • Lead the development, procurement and implementation off the shelf standard solutions and/or develop new standard automation solutions to support customer product manufacturing equipment needs
  • Plan and lead the hardware and software improvements of automated lines and off the shelf equipment, via the analysis of Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and other available data. Own the communications with multiple stakeholders including solution providers for design, technical information and specifications.
  • Lead and solve complex technical problems and lead the equipment validation activities such as Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT).
  • Develop maintenance plans and oversee and/or execute activities to achieve target performance. Be accountable for the performance, maintenance, and OEE improvements for multiple machines within a value stream.
  • Support customer product road map using Celestica Automation E2E process and tools such as User Requirement Specifications (URS) and Design for Automation Assembly (DFAA) and PM workbook.
  • Drive problem solving and corrective actions related to causes of machine failures, speed loss or quality issues.
  • Work with Process Engineering to ensure equipment is statistically capable of meeting the product manufacturing requirements.
