The University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass Amherst) is a public research and land-grant university in Amherst, Massachusetts. It is the flagship campus of the University of Massachusetts system. With approximately 23,000 undergraduate and 6,500 graduate students, UMass Amherst is the largest public university in New England and is ranked among the top 30 public universities in the United States. The university offers bachelor's degrees in over 90 fields of study, as well as master's degrees in over 70 fields and doctoral degrees in over 50 fields. The university is organized into nine schools and colleges.
