Truman Medical Centers (TMC) is an academic health center located in Kansas City, Missouri. It is the primary teaching hospital for the University of Missouri-Kansas City Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry and Pharmacy. Truman Medical Centers is a two-hospital, not-for-profit health system located in Kansas City, Missouri. The TMC Health System includes TMC Hospital Hill, TMC Lakewood, TMC Behavioral Health, the Jackson County Health Department and a number of primary care practices throughout Eastern Jackson County. The two acute care hospitals, TMC Hospital Hill and TMC Lakewood, have a combined 354 licensed beds. TMC serves as the safety net hospital for the Kansas City area, providing care to all regardless of ability to pay. TMC is the largest provider of uncompensated care in the Kansas City area.
