Radford University is a public university in Radford, Virginia. It was founded in 1910 and is one of the state's eight doctorate-granting public universities. The university offers more than 140 undergraduate and graduate programs, including 22 doctoral programs. Radford University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The university has a diverse student body, with students from 44 states and 71 countries. The university's athletic teams are known as the Highlanders and compete in NCAA Division I.
