Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) is an electric cooperative that provides electricity to more than 350,000 customers in central Texas. The cooperative was founded in 1938 and is headquartered in Johnson City, Texas. PEC is one of the largest electric cooperatives in the United States and is owned by its members. The cooperative generates electricity from a mix of sources, including natural gas, coal, wind, and solar. PEC also offers energy efficiency programs and renewable energy options to its customers.
