The Office of Naval Research (ONR) is an organization within the United States Department of the Navy that coordinates, executes, and promotes the science and technology programs of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps through schools, universities, government laboratories, nonprofit organizations, and for-profit organizations. ONR provides technical advice to the Chief of Naval Operations and the Secretary of the Navy, and works with industry to improve technology in areas such as power and energy, electronic warfare, cyber security, and autonomous systems. ONR also manages the Naval Research Enterprise, which includes the Naval Research Laboratory, the Office of Naval Research Global, and the ONR Corporate Programs Office.
