The National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) is a research center at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. It provides computing resources and support to researchers in the United States and around the world. NCSA was established in 1985 and has been involved in a number of important scientific discoveries, including the first web browser, Mosaic, and the first simulation of the formation of the universe. The center is home to several supercomputers, including Blue Waters, one of the fastest in the world.
