LAIKA is an American stop-motion animation studio located in Portland, Oregon. The studio was founded in 2005 by Nike co-founder Phil Knight and his son Travis Knight. LAIKA has produced several critically acclaimed feature films, including Coraline, ParaNorman, The Boxtrolls, Kubo and the Two Strings, and Missing Link. The studio is known for its use of stop-motion animation, which involves physically manipulating objects and taking photographs of them to create the illusion of movement. LAIKA has won several awards for its work, including an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
