Grand Canyon University is a private, non-profit Christian university in Phoenix, Arizona. It was founded in 1949 as a Southern Baptist-affiliated college. In 2004, the university became the first for-profit Christian college in the United States. In 2018, the university announced its return to non-profit status. The university offers over 200 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in education, liberal arts, business, science, engineering, math, Christian theology, and health care through its nine colleges. The university is known for its online degree programs and its Division I athletics teams, the Grand Canyon Antelopes.
