Capella University is a for-profit, online institution of higher learning headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The school is owned by the publicly traded Capella Education Company and delivers most of its education online. Capella University offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in business, education, human services, information technology, nursing, psychology, public health, public safety, and social work. The university has more than 38,000 students and 1,900 faculty members. Capella University was founded in 1993 as The Graduate School of America by Dr. Harold Abel and Stephen Shank.
