Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) is a major command of the United States Air Force, with its headquarters at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. AFSPC supports U.S. military operations worldwide through the use of many different types of satellite, launch and cyber operations. AFSPC is responsible for the development, acquisition, and operation of space systems that provide missile warning, space control, and space support. The command also maintains a network of satellites and ground-based sensors that provide early warning of missile launches and tracks orbiting objects to avoid collisions. AFSPC is also responsible for the development and operation of military space launch vehicles.
