15 highest-paying jobs in nursing

It’s tough out there to be a nurse. According to a new survey of 20,000 RNS from AMN Healthcare, nurses don’t get enough with patients and are often threatened with violence in the workplace. “From everything we know, this next decade will be extremely challenging for the nursing profession and healthcare in general, with serious workforce issues facing healthcare organizations at a time when many nurses are already experiencing tremendous pressure,” Cole Edmonson, chief clinical officer at AMN Healthcare said in a statement.

However, though it is tough, the job opportunities in nursing are immense.  The registered nurse workforce is projected to grow by 15% over the next 10 years, especially since so many Baby Boomers will be retiring.

So which companies are hiring for $100K  jobs in nursing the most? Ladders put together a list of the 15 companies hiring the most $100K+ jobs currently in this exciting field using data from its continuously updated database of high-paying jobs.

1. Accenture: 477

Accenture will be acquiring Silveo, a French consulting company that provides solutions and services for supply chains and manufacturing.

2. Leidos Holdings: 474

Leidos, a joint spin-off of Science Applications International Corporation, is an American defense company headquartered in Reston, Virginia, that provides scientific, engineering, systems integration, and technical services.

3. Johnson & Johnson: 336

The healthcare giant is currently dealing with the fallout from reports that their baby powder was contaminated with asbestos.

4. HCA: 254

Hospital Corporation of America is an American for-profit operator of health care facilities. Its based in Nashville, Tennessee and currently manages 168 hospitals and 116 freestanding surgery centers in the United States and United Kingdom.

5. Kaiser Permanente: 246

Founded in 1945, it is one of the nation’s largest providers of medical and healthcare jobs. It is headquartered in Oakland, CA, and serves patients all over the U.S.

6. Centene Corporation: 198

Centene Corp offers healthcare plans to government-sponsored healthcare programs, specifically for uninsured individuals.

7. Becton Dickinson: 191

The medical technology company that manufactures and sells medical devices, instrument systems and reagents.

8. Ascension: 190

The company is having a bit of difficulty on a cloud-based deal with Google. 

9. Anthem: 168

Anthem is a health insurance provider.

10. Trinity-Health: 142

Trinity Health is making a major diabetes initiative push.
