Full Job Description
Micron research and development has an opening for Yield Analysis (DA) engineer to develop our next generation memory solution and to support production transfer for the next generation Micron products. As a DA engineer you will be responsible to characterize electrical data to identify and source out extrinsic and intrinsic device issues that are impacting yield. You will work closely with cross functional team from R&D and manufacturing to accelerate product to market timeline by applying device physics knowledge to develop end of line device performance prediction using machine learning. We need engineers who are passionate about detecting problems, making changes for the better, and seek out innovative ways in how predict end of line device performance.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Analyze end of line test, parametric and fab data to identify design, process, and test issues that are impacting yield
• Develop new tools for yield analysis and implement machine learning technique to improve analysis efficiency and accuracy, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to improve proficiency.
• Identify new creative and innovative ways to use existing tools to identify relevant process issues or device failures
• Identify interactions between process modules and/or equipment to detect fail mechanisms
• Use the data collected inline to drive process improvements
• Improve yield by standardizing methods and procedures to promote consistent, comparable and repeatable processes
• Lead or participate in multi-area focus teams to troubleshoot complex yield issues
• Providing feedback on design and process issues that are limiting device functionality and help the R&D team driving resolution to existing issues
• Publish and present reports on analysis of process experiments
• Support transfer of new part from R&D site to manufacturing site
Successful candidates for this position will have:
• Bachelor with 5 year industrial experience in related semiconductor field, or MS or PhD or in Engineering or related Semiconductor field.
• Good understanding of semiconductor processing
• Demonstrated expertise in CMOS operation and understanding on memory cell operation
• The ability to effectively extract, analyze, and report data
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
• The ability to communicate complex analysis in a succinct and actionable manner
• The ability to be detailed oriented and follow complex procedures
• Continuous improvement process (CIP) mentality, looking for ways to improve measurement accuracy and end of line yield predictions
• Demonstrated statistical analysis skills
• Programming skills, including JavaScript, Python, R, and SQL
• The ability to work effectively in a team environment and with little supervision
• The ability to continuously learn and self-improve
• The ability to lead and coordinate discussion forum of cross-functional teams
