Responsible for leading end-to-end sales planning activities across the United States within the AWS Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS) organization. This is a pivotal role that enables significant business impact through direct involvement in annual planning (AP), in-year planning (IYP), territory management, sales hierarchy operations, and quota/target setting processes.
The primary focus of this role is to serve as the planning bridge between Field Sales Operations (FSO) and Worldwide Sales Planning teams - ensuring planning decisions are executed accurately, escalations are resolved efficiently, and field needs are represented in worldwide processes.
Key job responsibilities
Lead annual planning and in-year planning execution for assigned U.S. business verticals, including territory formation, account assignments, and quota distribution
Partner with Sales Directors, Business Operations Leaders, and worldwide teams (SPC, SPT, GSC) to drive planning accuracy and operational excellence
Manage territory management (TM) and sales hierarchy (SH) changes, revenue exceptions, and prior period adjustments (PPAs)
Drive quota adjustment (AQT) workflows, escalation resolution, and cross-BU coordination
Deliver sales planning insights through operational metrics, reporting, and data quality management to support the rapid growth of the AWS public sector business
Ensure compliance with internal planning policies and government regulations in coordination with legal and compliance teams
Ability to think strategically while executing with precision in a fast-paced, deadline-driven planning environment
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with meticulous attention to detail
Proven ability to build cross-functional working relationships across distributed teams
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent planning cycles and competing priorities
About the team
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 7+ years of finance, business management and sales operations experience
- 5+ years of professional software and systems development experience
- 5+ years of with Excel experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in a high-tech environment
- MBA in finance, accounting or related field
- Can work proactively and independently, meet deadlines, and deliver on projects and tasks
- Experience identifying and solving complex problems through data analysis
- Experience in written and oral communication, including the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization (technical, business, executive)
- Experience demonstrating strong analytical abilities and confidence in the use of data
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
