Job Description:

About the role:

The Workshop Supervisor manages the service workshop as a complete operation focused on the overhaul, repair, inspection, testing, and certification of 4-stroke large-bore medium-speed marine engine components. Ensure all components are restored to OEM specifications and delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and at target margin while maintaining the highest standards of quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

What you will do:
  • Oversee day-to-day workshop operations involving large bore engine components and OEM processes.
  • Manage and lead a team of 11 employees to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor workshop financial performance, including costs, profitability, and inventory control.
  • Plan and schedule workshop activities to maximize efficiency and meet customer deadlines.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and operational performance.

What you will have:

Cross-Team Integration: Understanding of the importance of inter-team collaboration in breaking down silos and achieving business results; ability to lead employees from various functions to communicate, coordinate work across divisions, and collaborate in solving problems as one team.

Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Manufacturing Application Systems: Knowledge of company and industry databases and applications used in a manufacturing environment; ability to operate, maintain and update these systems.

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.

Top candidates will have:
  • Degree or equivalent experience desired
  • Prior service management experience
  • Prior 4-stroke engine experience
  • Prior marine industry experience
  • Be at least 21 years of age and have a clean driving record, which generally means:
  • No more than (2) moving violations within the last 12 months.
  • No more than three (3) moving violations in the past three (3) years


Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
