General Description The Workforce Development Department is seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable individual to join our team as the Workforce Development Board Coordinator. This position coordinates the Workforce Development Board's activities related to Board engagement, workforce system collaboration, compliance, strategic initiatives, communications, stakeholder relationships, and organizational projects. Working closely with the Executive Director, Workforce Development Board members, department staff, workforce system partners, employers, and community stakeholders, the Board Coordinator supports implementation of Board priorities, strengthens Board member engagement, coordinates the department's internal and external communications, and promotes collaboration across the workforce development system. The position contributes to the department's success by coordinating projects, supporting communications, fostering relationships, maintaining organizational systems, and advancing a culture of professionalism, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Essential Functions Workforce Board Coordination & Member Engagement
- Coordinate Workforce Development Board activities and initiatives in collaboration with the Executive Director and Board leadership.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for Board members and support effective communication between the Board, Executive Director, department staff, and workforce system partners.
- Coordinate Board member engagement activities, including orientation, development, recognition, committee participation, and other activities designed to strengthen member involvement and understanding of workforce system priorities.
- Support the Executive Director with Board recruitment activities by coordinating outreach, prospective member information, appointment requirements, and onboarding.
- Maintain current knowledge of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Board requirements and coordinate with appropriate staff to support compliance with membership, governance, and certification requirements.
- Support implementation and follow-up of Board and committee priorities and actions in coordination with the Executive Director and Project Lead Planner.

Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required - Strong knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, and policies related to workforce development programs.
- Knowledge of workforce development systems, Board governance, strategic planning, employer engagement, and community partnerships.
- Excellent organizational, coordination, and project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate information to Board members, partners, employers, community stakeholders, and government entities.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects, priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, work independently, collaborate effectively with others, and manage sensitive or confidential information appropriately.
- Ability to represent the Workforce Development Board and department professionally in meetings, events, and community settings.
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or at least three years of experience working with a board or similar governing body, workforce development organization, public agency, community organization, or related environment is preferred.
