Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, motivated Workers' Compensation Attorney who is passionate about helping injured workers navigate the legal process and obtain the benefits they deserve. The ideal candidate is a collaborative professional who enjoys litigation, values client relationships, and thrives in a fast-paced environment supported by an experienced legal team. This role will be based in our new Tulsa office.

Position Summary:

The Workers' Compensation Attorney is responsible for managing a caseload of Oklahoma Workers' Compensation matters from assignment through resolution. This role requires strategic case management, strong litigation skills, excellent client communication, and close collaboration with legal assistants, case managers, and firm leadership.

The successful candidate will advocate for clients before the Oklahoma Workers' Compensation Commission while delivering exceptional service and maintaining the firm's high standards for professionalism and client care.

Essential Responsibilities:

Case Management & Client Representation
  • Manage an assigned caseload from initial assignment through settlement or final resolution.
  • Develop and execute legal strategies tailored to each client's objectives and case facts.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients regarding case status, expectations, and next steps.
  • Provide legal counsel and guidance throughout every phase of representation.
  • Ensure timely movement of cases while maintaining quality legal work and client satisfaction.

Litigation & Advocacy
  • Conduct legal research and analyze applicable statutes, case law, and regulations.
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, responses, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct depositions, hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials as necessary.
  • Prepare witnesses and clients for hearings and testimony.
  • Represent clients before the Oklahoma Workers' Compensation Commission and other appropriate courts.
  • Negotiate settlements that achieve favorable outcomes for clients while protecting their interests.

Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Workers' Compensation Case Managers to ensure efficient case progression.
  • Provide legal direction and guidance regarding case strategy and procedural requirements.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and departments across the firm to ensure exceptional client service.
  • Mentor and support legal staff while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Professional & Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and timely case documentation within the firm's case management system.
  • Meet established productivity, case management, and client communication expectations.
  • Comply with all ethical obligations, court rules, and Oklahoma Bar Association requirements.
  • Participate in firm meetings, training initiatives, and professional development opportunities.
  • Utilize firm technology and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, documentation quality, and client outcomes.
  • Uphold the firm's GRACES client service standards in every client interaction.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Workers' Compensation litigation experience.
  • Trial or hearing experience before the Oklahoma Workers' Compensation Commission.
  • Experience negotiating settlements and mediating disputed claims.
  • Familiarity with Litify, Salesforce, or other legal case management software.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring legal support staff.
