With the new Workday release scheduled for early September, pre-planning is already underway, with project demands expected to ramp up significantly by mid-July. This role will be critical in supporting that work and ensuring readiness.

The Opportunity

The Workday Release Sr Program Manager will be leading and managing enterprise-wide system release cycles across Workday, Beeline, and UKG platforms. Within our MGB Digital Enterprise team, this role is the primary owner of planning, coordinating, and executing bi-annual major releases for each platform, while maintaining agility to manage ad hoc releases that arise between major release cycles. Provides project management guidance to project coordinators and other project managers on the team.

β€’ Own end-to-end release management for Workday, Beeline, and UKG bi-annual releases β€” including planning, stakeholder alignment, testing coordination, change management, and post-release review.
β€’ Monitor and manage ad hoc releases between major release windows, ensuring timely assessment, scoping, and execution with minimal disruption to operations.
β€’ Develop project goals, objectives, approach, and scope through negotiation and diplomacy that result in well-defined, well-sponsored release projects.
β€’ Negotiate and acquire the enterprise-wide resources necessary to appropriately implement each release cycle.
β€’ Develop workplans and release timelines aligned to vendor release schedules and internal readiness requirements.
β€’ Contribute to the development of Digital/IT solutions that align with Digital standards and strategic directions.
β€’ Develop capital and operating funding requirements associated with release projects.
β€’ Manage release projects within approved budgets.
β€’ Plan, manage, and oversee release cycles using recognized project management methods.
β€’ Manage releases within the context of the larger environment, including competing priorities, staffing levels, and budgetary concerns.
β€’ Provide appropriate and timely problem escalation β€” including potential solutions β€” to Digital management, project steering committees, and executive management.


Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications for Success

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Applications required or Bachelor's Degree Related
  • MGB can consider and review experience in lieu of a degree
  • Information Technology Experience 5-7 years required
  • Ability to manage large, complex projects, including their dependencies, team members, other resources, and timeline.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate project demands accordingly.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with people cooperatively and effectively from all organizational levels and build consensus through negotiation and diplomacy.
  • Ability to facilitate and work within a complex, multi-site environment.
