This job is responsible for analyzing processes, documenting business case opportunities, and implementing process improvement/transformation initiatives in support of Operational Excellence objectives. Key responsibilities include executing on change initiatives which may result in breakthrough cost efficiencies, quality, productivity, and risk mitigation. Job expectations include working with business leaders and subject matter experts, ensuring collaboration and transparency across integrated business and technology teams, and driving execution of solutions within the budget and timeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements moderately complex solutions to address issues and risks, optimize efficiency, reduce variability, and improve controls, quality, and sustainability
  • Works directly with Line of Business partners to gather information needed to identify and implement solutions that resolve critical business challenges and opportunities
  • Establishes and implements a model for continuous process improvement by applying process engineering best practices and delivering reusable technology solutions
  • Leverages analytics and critical thinking to solve complex business problems and translate issues into structured design oriented solutions with clearly defined business case benefits

Wealth Management Operations (WMO) provides end-to end operational support of Merrill, Private Bank, and Workplace Benefits.

The Strategy and Transformation Team within WMO leads the evolution and full integration of the Operational Excellence program within the organization. The team leads strategic work efforts geared toward improving Wealth Management Operations and other Merrill Lines of Business using process analysis techniques and supports Process Owners (PO) to drive recommendations on strategic direction and compliance with the Enterprise Process Management Policy.

As a senior member of the Strategy and Transformation team within Wealth Management Operations (WMO), the Process Design Consultant II leads complex, cross-functional initiatives that drive strategic transformation across WMO and adjacent Merrill Lines of Business. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy and is responsible for shaping process strategies, mentoring junior consultants, and influencing senior stakeholders.

The Process Design Consultant II applies deep expertise in process analysis, organizational design, and technology enablement to uncover opportunities, mitigate risks, and deliver innovative solutions. This role requires advanced analytical capabilities, strong executive presence, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while driving measurable impact across the organization.

A Process Design Consultant II on this team will:
  • Lead strategic initiatives that span multiple Lines of Business and influence enterprise-wide transformation.
  • Evaluate current state processes, organizational structures, and technologies to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Raise attention around risk and obstacles uncovered during analysis and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Use advanced data analytics and visualization tools to develop sound target state solutions.
  • Build and present compelling business cases to senior leadership.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to junior process designers to strengthen the Operational Excellence program.
  • Engage with executive stakeholders to socialize analysis, status, and strategic recommendations.


Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of process design experience including process, organization, and technology.
  • 3+ years of strategic planning, business model innovation, and business case development.
  • Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills with experience in data-driven decision making.
  • Strong executive presence and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced process mapping and modeling skills using tools such as Visio
  • Expertise in storytelling and presentation, both written and verbal.
  • Avid learner comfortable navigating new situations
  • Skilled at managing high degrees of complexity


Desired Qualifications:
  • Six Sigma Black / Green Belt certification.
  • Advanced Excel and data visualization skills.
  • Experience managing or supporting operations in Wealth Management and Financial Services.

Pay range

$112,500.00 - $156,500.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
