Job Summary

The Wiring Design Release Engineer is a key position responsible for designing and battery pack internal electrical connectivity systems for internal ABS and external customer products.

Responsibilities
  • Lead harness topology and partitioning.
  • Package components and collaborate with other systems within the application.
  • Optimize harness complexity across product lines to leverage standardization & modularity.
  • Lead coding of all circuits.
  • Complete electrical connectivity design for a batter system including Wire-list and DEF files for composite harness design, Load analysis.
  • Review and anticipate voltage drop calculations circuit sizing.
  • In-line connector pin count determination and circuit protection.
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineers and BMS Hardware Engineers to ensure all internal and customer-specific requirements are met.
  • Track and report on program progress to ensure requirements are met in a timely manner.
  • Support pre-launch builds as well as product launches.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

  • Experience designing & specifying wire harnesses, flexible printed circuits (FPC), and automotive low- and high-voltage connector systems.
  • Understanding of design best practices for wire routings, fixations, shielding & grounding
  • Understanding of common industry standards governing connector and wire harness design and manufacturing
  • Ability to interface with connector, PDC, vehicle architecture, and systems engineers to manage all electrical aspects of the wiring design.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and oral communications.
