Description & Requirements

MANTECH is seeking a motivated, career-driven, and customer-focused Windows/Linux Systems Administrator to join our team in Hanover, MD.

You will play a critical role in supporting the enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global, mission-focused workforce. This position supports the high-visibility Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization, responsible for the delivery and security of MPO's Enterprise Information Technology (EIT), the foundation for enterprise-wide services. As a Windows/Linux Systems Administrator, you will work alongside customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and vendors to support the implementation and compliance of advanced EIT capabilities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all the client/server/network devices.
  • Manages IT system infrastructure, configuration, operation, and any processes related to the Windows and Linux systems.
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, and diagnosis.
  • Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 10 years' experience as a Systems Administrator OR five 5 additional years' experience as a Systems Administrator may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience with Windows 11
  • Linux experience with Ubuntu or Fedora
  • Networking experience with Juniper
  • Experience with DNS, DHCP, Active Directory including Group Policy, Remote Desktop Services, and Hyper-V
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Cisco and Dell networking systems
  • Ability to upgrade code on Cisco and Juniper switches
  • Strong Windows and Linux troubleshooting skills with hardware and software issues
  • HP Device Manager (understanding of RMM tools would be sufficient)
  • Experience with Splunk, Zabbix, Syslog-ng


Clearance Requirements:
  • Must possess and maintain a current/active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations


The projected compensation range for this position is $128,000.00-$214,400.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
