Windows Engineer III - TS/SCI Clearance Required - JBSA Lackland - San Antonio, TX

Job Description

The Windows Engineer III serves as the senior Windows infrastructure engineer responsible for the design, implementation, administration, sustainment, and modernization of Microsoft Windows Server environments supporting the Department of the Air Force's Defensive Cyberspace Operations Weapon Systems. The position ensures secure, highly available, and resilient enterprise Windows infrastructure supporting 24x7 cyber operations while maintaining compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements, RMF, and DISA STIGs.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise Microsoft Windows Server environments.
  • Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Microsoft infrastructure services.
  • Support operating system deployments, migrations, upgrades, and technology refresh initiatives.
  • Integrate Windows infrastructure with virtualization, storage, and cloud environments.
  • Administer Windows Server operating systems across multiple security enclaves.
  • Manage enterprise authentication, file, print, and certificate services.
  • Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, backup, and disaster recovery.
  • Implement DISA STIG-compliant configurations.
  • Support RMF, A&A, vulnerability remediation, POA&M activities, and audit readiness.
  • Apply security patches and maintain secure baselines.
  • Provide Tier III engineering support for enterprise Windows infrastructure.
  • Respond to outages and infrastructure failures.
  • Support maintenance windows, COOP testing, and mission travel.
  • Develop automation using PowerShell and Desired State Configuration (DSC).
  • Support infrastructure automation, Checklist-as-Code, and modernization initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline. Equivalent experience may be substituted.

Certification: CASP+, CCNP Security, CCSP, GCIA, GCED, GCIH, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) (or equivalent Microsoft enterprise certification)

Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 years of enterprise Windows Server engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting DoD, Federal, or large enterprise environments.
  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, PowerShell, VMware integration, backup and recovery, and enterprise patch management.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience engineering and sustaining Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure supporting Department of the Air Force DCO systems or comparable 24x7 DoD mission environments.
  • Advanced expertise with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, certificate services, VMware integration, enterprise patch management, backup and recovery, and disaster-recovery planning.
  • Demonstrated experience automating Windows infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and security compliance using PowerShell, Desired State Configuration, Infrastructure-as-Code, and Checklist-as-Code methodologies.
