Full Job Description
This is a hybrid position working out of Oklahoma City, OK. The Opportunity: As part of the Technical Services team, the Wind Engineer will lead technical reliability and performance the EGPNA Wind Fleet. The Engineer will be responsible for creating predictive processes and tools, collecting information, reviewing results, making inspection/ repair recommendations, optimizing wind projects and reviewing work performed by internal and external teams. The Wind Engineer will report to the Manager, Wind Technical Services. What You'll Do at Enel: Responsibilities, include, but not limited to:
  • Lead and support engineering investigations into drivetrain and blade reliability issues, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
  • Collaborate with OEMs, service providers, and internal stakeholders to improve component performance and reduce downtime
  • Lead wind turbine asset operational and generation performance review and troubleshooting efforts to ensure EGPNA performance goals are met.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, failure modes, and opportunities for reliability enhancement.
  • Perform blade damage reviews and create Scope of Work instructions for repairs.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for mechanical systems.
  • Evaluate and ensure successful implementation of upgrade and improvement opportunities .
  • Create Technical Specifications and Scope of Works for services, materials, and upgrades on the EGPNA fleet.
  • Support Procurement to technical evaluate and technical approve services and materials
  • Monitor the implementation of new procedures, upgrades, performance improvements, retrofits, execution of preventative maintenance, etc.
  • Review components inspection reports and recommendations from third parties and ensure actions are taken based on that information.
  • Support O&M actively during construction phase, hand-over to O&M and the wind farm warranty period .
  • Plan and review results of End of Warranty inspections. Build End of Warranty reports to submit to OEM prior to the end of the warranty periods .
  • Provide engineering expertise and technical leadership to the Technical Support organization.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain required training certifications and qualifications.
  • O&M technical best practices identification and global implementation across EGPNA fleet.
Who You Are:
  • Strong computer skills with experience on the MS suite including Word, Excel and MS Project .
  • Ability to work independently .
  • Strong initiative and drive for high achievement and continuous improvement.
  • Able to interpret and create technical documentation and specifications.
  • Up to 25% travel required .
  • Mental Functions : Ability to solve complex problems, Ability to make decisions based on limited information, Time management, communicating and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of wind turbines technology, as well as in data and failure analysis.
  • Physical Activities: Ability to work at height and climb EGPNA turbines (>300ft).
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License
What You've Accomplished:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university .
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with wind turbines design, manufacturing, maintenance or operation.
  • Strong knowledge on Wind Turbine operations, maintenance, and performance.
  • String understand of major wind turbine components (gearboxes, generators, bearings) and blade structures (materials, aerodynamics, damage mechanisms)
  • Experience with failure analysis, reliability engineering, and condition monitoring tools
  • Good written and verbal communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills required .
