Scope of Job:
Responsible for the leadership and management of Regional Branch locations with assigned business activities and all related support. Accountable for profitable growth, relationship expansion, credit quality, deposit generation, operational effectiveness, talent development, regulatory compliance, and the bank's reputation in the communities it serves within their region.
Primary Duties:
Responsible for the day-to-day management, staffing, administration, and related support staff for the assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Selects, trains, coaches, and develops subordinates in accordance with BankWest philosophies and policies; schedules and manages staffing ensuring work completion and delivery of related customer service requirements; ensures compliance with BankWest policies, procedures and standards.
Working with Chief Lending Officer, develop and execute market plans aligned with the bank's strategic objectives; establish goals for loans, deposits, fee income, profitability, customer growth, and market share; monitor results and initiate corrective action when needed. Work with Branch Managers to assure their involvement and commitment to meeting Bank strategic objectives.
Working with Branch Managers in your Region, provide oversight and support to bank staff for the management of new and existing credit and deposit relationships. Regional President may also prospect, close, and service approved loans, carrying a portfolio of their own.
Regional Presidents will have responsibility to work with Branch Managers for staffing Business Development Officers and Portfolio Managers within the Region. Accountable to maintain a comprehensive knowledge of related policies and procedures. Ensure that Regional work responsibilities are performed consistently with the standardized procedure and compliance requirements of the Bank. Foster a culture of ethics and accountability.
Responsible to monitor and manage Regional business banking credit performance: exercising sound credit judgment within delegated authority; oversee portfolio quality, fostering a culture requiring accurate loan documentation, appropriate pricing, and compliance with laws, regulations, and bank policies; oversee concentrations, past dues, and problem assets; support timely risk identification and making recommendations on the disposition of problem credits.
Drive sustainable core deposit growth through relationship-based strategies; ensure Branch partnerships with internal partners (including Cash Management and Retail) to improve service quality, productivity, and customer experience.
Promote the identification of customer needs for additional Bank and Financial Service products in the Region. Ensure the sale and referral of Bank, Mortgage, Trust, Brokerage, and Insurance products and services to new and existing customers. Assure your Region is utilizing and Branch Manager are administering the bank-wide Customer Relationship Management (CRM) program.
Support meaningful community engagement within Branches in your Region.
Provide concise, accurate updates on regional performance, opportunities, risks, talent, and market conditions to executive leadership and, when requested to the Board of Directors. Attend Loan Committee meetings as required. Incumbent will be a member of ALCO and CRM Committee.
Provide leadership to support the development and implementation of Strategic initiatives for the Bank.
Secondary Duties:
Act in a leadership capacity, providing relevant expertise and counsel; actively supporting work and employee development activities of the Bank.
Work as a team with departmental counterparts on planning and implementing assigned projects and products.
Participate on various committees and project teams as deemed appropriate by management.
Attend and actively participate in training offered.
Adhere to all applicable Policies and Procedures of BankWest organization.
Community involvement is strongly recommended.

Requirements
Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Applicable experience and/or related certifications may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience:
7 years' experience in a related field
Experience in working as supervisor, mentor, and coach.
Knowledge and Special Skills:

Talent development and performance accountability. Ability to provide mentoring and coaching.
Ability to work independently, under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust work schedules as needed to complete job responsibilities.

Knowledge of ag and commercial financial statement and cashflow analysis, loan structuring, collateral evaluation, and risk management of the portfolio.
Commercial acumen and sound credit judgment including knowledge of business lending underwriting skills including but not limited to analysis of financial statements, tax returns, and cashflows.
Knowledge or ability to learn regulatory requirements pertinent to performance of specified duties in job description.
Knowledge of banking terminology and procedures.
Knowledge and ability to collaborate in cross functional areas of Banking.
Ability to skillfully use a variety of application software, learn computer programs, and comprehend the program output.
Adhere to Federal Privacy Standards in addition to following BankWest requirements for electronic communication and Social Engineering standards.
