About the role
The Wellness Category Finance, Sr Director is the strategic finance leader partnering directly with the Category General Manager to shape, steer, and deliver the end‑to‑end financial performance of the category. This role owns the full P&L, drives in‑year delivery, guides long‑term value creation, and influences major commercial and strategic decisions across the business unit.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Category Partnership
Serve as the primary finance partner to the Category GM, providing strategic insight and challenge to drive performance, growth, and profitability.
Own the end‑to‑end category P&L, ensuring transparency, accountability, and robust financial stewardship across Gross Sales, COGS, A&P, overheads, and contribution.
Act as a trusted adviser influencing critical category decisions—including portfolio strategy, resource allocation, pricing, and investment choices.
Planning, Forecasting & Performance Management
Lead the full annual budget and periodic forecast cycles for the category; shape BU strategies that deliver efficient, sustainable in‑year growth.
Co‑own the in‑year forecast, driving accuracy, risk/opportunity management, and scenario modelling to support agile decision‑making.
Direct monthly results reviews and performance deep dives, providing clear, insight‑rich driver narratives at month‑end close.
Profit Optimization & Resource Allocation
Manage the end‑to‑end P&L with disciplined resource allocation, ensuring spend effectiveness, gross margin enhancement, and cost productivity across COGS and operating expenses.
Partner with cross‑functional leaders to embed portfolio optimization and strategic funding choices aligned to category priorities and ROI.
Balance Sheet, Controls & Financial Health
Oversee balance sheet governance, including provisions, working capital dynamics, and financial control activities.
Lead impairment analysis and partner with global finance teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
Enterprise Collaboration & Leadership
Collaborate closely with Commercial Finance, Sales Finance, Marketing, Supply, and Innovation to ensure integrated category planning and execution.
Support enterprise initiatives such as LRP, productivity programs, procurement efforts, innovation planning, and cross‑category initiatives.
Represent Finance with an enterprise mindset—driving consistency, improving ways of working, and uplifting financial capability across teams.
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in Finance
Minimum 5 years of experience in Commercial Finance
Experience with leading and driving transformational change and cultural development
Professional finance experience at a senior level.
Excellent judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to enable confident, timely decisions while balancing regulatory compliance, business continuity, and risk mitigation.
Strong communication and influencing skills, including the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance for senior leaders.
Proven experience leading end‑to‑end P&L ownership in a complex, multi‑brand category or business unit.
Strong command of financial planning, forecasting, commercial finance, and cost optimization.
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, identify key insights, and translate them into actionable recommendations.
Executive‑level presence with the ability to influence and challenge senior leaders constructively.
Ability to lead through ambiguity and shape strategic decisions.
Strong communication skills—able to simplify complex concepts and drive clarity at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to partner effectively across Marketing, Sales, Supply, Innovation and other teams in a matrixed organization.
Preferred Skills:
MBA or Master's degree in related field
Professional certification (i.e., CPA, CIMA, ACCA or local equivalent)
Experience providing management insight and value-added analysis for complex issues
Relationship builder and ability to develop others
Ability to effectively use negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Capability to lead, influence and work in a complex matrix environment
Location: This role is based in based in Warren, NJ, and follows a hybrid model, requiring an in-office presence of 3 days per week.
Compensation: The salary range for this role is: $230,903 - $317,490 plus a 30% on-target annual bonus and LTI.
