$73,897.00 - $118,515.00 Annually

Hiring Salary Range:

$73,897.00 - $96,206.00 Annually

Job Summary

The Wellness and Nutrition Coordinator (Operations Officer I) position reports directly to the Wellness Program Manager. The position assists with all matters related to employee health and wellness, to include, but not limited to: employee benefits, program development, employee wellness, clerical duties and employee stakeholder/morale committee.

Essential Functions

  • Provide individual nutrition counseling services for city employees and retirees.
  • Teaching employee and/or retirees about health topics such as DHR Wellness programs, stress management, exercise, and disease prevention.
  • Provide programing for nutrition education webinars, seminars, events, tabling for city-wide and agency-wide wellness events/requests.
  • Learning about the needs of agencies in order to provide appropriate advisement and service
  • Preparing reports on agency and city-wide progress and working with Wellness Team on a day-to-day basis
  • Assisting agencies or city with programs such as fitness classes, holistic wellness programs, financial wellness programs
  • Explaining procedures and answering questions about programs and initiatives
  • Developing and implementing health education programs for individuals or groups of people
  • Develop and implement health and wellness programs that promote healthy lifestyles and meet the needs of a diverse population
  • Conduct needs assessments to determine program goals and objectives, and develop evaluation tools to assess program effectiveness
  • Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of program operations, including staffing, budgeting, marketing, and scheduling
  • Collaborate with other departments, agencies, healthcare carriers and organizations to coordinate services and maximize resources
  • Promote programs through public relations and marketing efforts, and represent the organization at city events
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence related to program activities
  • Stay up to date on trends in the health and wellness industry, and attend professional development workshops and conferences as needed
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed, such as updating records, ordering supplies, and processing invoices

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in health promotion, public health, or related field

AND

Eperience: Have 3+ years professional experience in health education, wellness promotion, or similar role

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in nutrition or related field and licensure as a nutritionist preferred.
