As the Welding Process Engineer, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between part design and production, contributing to the engineering change management process, and supporting the production shop floor on developing and setting up Tooling, welding procedures, welding parameters, troubleshooting welding defects and implementing corrective actions. If you have a strong hands-on focus on production with MIG Welding, continuous improvement and Tooling, you might be the ideal candidate for the Welding Process Engineer position at Forvia.
You will also design, implement, and monitor the production processes, ensuring the productivity and quality of the products.
Your profile and competencies to succeed
Minimum education level
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in production or mechanical engineering
Professional Experience
• At least 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in MIG Welding processes, preferably in high volume automotive manufacturing.
Skills and competencies
• Technically skilled on process design using GMAW.
• Lean Manufacturing, TAKT time, Standardized work and ergonomics
• Welding Procedure Specifications
• Profficient in processes using Fixed Torch and Manual MIG Welding
• Experience with Welding tooling setup, adjustments and maintenance
• Strong GD&T knowledge
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• International mindset, with the ability to work in a multicultural environment
• English required, other languages are a plus
