Dewberry has an excellent career opportunity available for a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer in our Charlotte, NCoffice to join our growing Water Group with a focus on municipal or industrial treatment design. The Project Engineer will be responsible for supporting our team on water and wastewater design projects for clients.The successful candidate will collaborate and work within multi-disciplined teams for the engineering and design of water and wastewater pump stations, pipelines, storage tanks, and treatment facilities.This is an excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join a team of outstanding professionals, and the opportunity to apply the latest technology to help our clients solve their most challenging problems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating a multi-disciplined project design team.
  • Managing project scope and budget.
  • Preparation of engineering reports.
  • Pump station design, inflow and infiltration studies, hydraulic modeling, collection system condition assessment and design, water distribution and storage, with potential opportunities to engage on treatment projects.
  • Developing opinions of probable project cost.
  • Providing construction phase engineering services


Required Skills & Required Experience

  • B.S. Degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering.
  • M.S. degree a plus
  • 3+ years of experience with progressive responsibilities for public sector water and wastewater projects.
  • North Carolina PE preferred, or the ability to obtain within one year of employment
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft office is required.
  • Familiar with Modeling and GIS software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and county/agency review staff.
  • Water/Wastewater infrastructure experience is a plus.
