Role description:

Arcadis' Resilience Water team is seeking a Project Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Houston, TX office, supporting the design and delivery of critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering impactful projects that directly support communities across Texas. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to take projects from concept through construction-gaining exposure to complex infrastructure challenges while building your technical and project leadership capabilities. Role accountabilities:

As a Project Water/Wastewater Engineer, you'll support project planning, design, and execution activities for water and wastewater treatment plants, water transmission and distribution systems, pump stations, wastewater collection systems, and lift stations. You'll partner closely with clients and internal leaders to shape project scope, develop innovative solutions, and ensure successful, on-time delivery. Beyond project execution, you'll contribute to business development efforts, help position the team for future opportunities, and mentor entry-level engineers-making a visible impact both within the organization and across the communities we serve.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from concept through construction
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and teams to ensure high-quality, on-time, and profitable delivery
  • Collaborate with clients, Area Leaders, and Account Leaders to define project scope, develop fee estimates, and manage risk
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including proposals, presentations, and client engagement strategies
  • Mentor and support junior engineers while upholding strong quality, safety, and technical excellence standards

Travel for this role is approximately 25% and includes site visits, client meetings, and business development activities. This provides the opportunity to strengthen client relationships, gain valuable field experience, and see the direct impact of your work.

  • Experience leading projects or major design tasks for municipal clients

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $97,680 - $146,520. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
