What You Will Be Doing This position will manage the projects as well as the preventative and reactive maintenance activities of the JWC WTP in Forest Grove Oregon. This person will supervise a small team of certified maintenance operators. It is expected that this individual will perform both office functions and work in the field alongside the team and independently. This person will also work collaboratively with the other WTP supervisors, management, and the JWC partner agencies.
- Supervises staff, including prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
- Oversee the daily maintenance of water treatment plant assets and systems.
- Work within computerized asset management and O&M systems to maintain and create accurate logs and records.
- Review upcoming maintenance tasks, plan, schedule and assign tasks based on priority, staff workload and skillset.
- Perform QA/QC functions on completed tasks within the asset management system and in the field ensuring work has been completed and documented.
- Perform maintenance tasks, independently and with a team.
- Prepares reports, correspondence, project tracking documents, and related technical project specifications and documentation.
- Purchase and procure supplies and inventory for maintenance and repair activities. Working with other departments and agencies as needed.
- Monitor warranty periods of equipment and schedule and coordinate repairs within warranty period.
- Foster a collaborative teamwork environment and mentor others.
- Assists in preparing budget input and budget tracking; assists in planning and program development; recommends system improvements; and prepares related reports and estimates.

Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and a collaborative leadership approach to maintaining water treatment plant assets. This role requires a balance of hands-on -maintenance experience, effective supervision, and the ability to work safely and inclusively in a dynamic operational environment.
- Demonstrated experience using tools and equipment associated with asset maintenance in an industrial or treatment facility setting.
- Proficiency using computers and computerized asset management or maintenance management systems to prepare reports, document activities, present information, and develop spreadsheets or similar materials.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage maintenance schedules effectively.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work productively with diverse stakeholders representing a range of ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Knowledge of and ability to oversee and perform safe work practices, including confined space entry, working at heights, and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork, mentor staff, and support professional development.
- Supervisory experience with the ability to effectively balance administrative responsibilities and field-based work.
Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED and six years of related experience in the assigned area of responsibility, including two years of lead or supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
- Valid, current Driver's License and safe driving record
- CPR/ First Aid Certification
- Class III Plant Maintenance Technologist certification preferred but not required
