Who are we looking for?

GHD has an excellent opportunity for a Regional Water Market Leader for the East U.S. to develop andimplement the expansion of GHD's Water team. Desired areas of expertise include Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment and Recycling, Linear Conveyance for both Water and Wastewater, Water Resources Planning, and/or Stormwater Management / Flood Mitigation services. Relationships with key southeast clients, state and local government, and business partners are essential. You will support our current staff and clients, while building new relationships and depth of resources through business development.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

Working with GHD's National Water Market Leader, our Regional Leadership as well as GHD's Global Subject Matter Experts, you will implement and lead the following activities:

Strategy and Business Planning
  • Strategic business planning and budgeting for the Southeast Water practice,
  • Oversee the region's team of geography business managers to support the implementation of local growth plans in the Southeast.
  • Develop and manage tactical strategies aligned with our overall Water Market growth plan for the region/country including growth in the Collaborative Delivery, Program Management and Traditional engineering consulting.
  • Participate in the development and execution of the growth strategy for the Southeast Water Market, specifically focusing on water / wastewater planning and design (both conveyance and process treatment), and advanced digital tool implementation to assist in water and water resource management,
  • Collaborate across our Five Market Segments to deliver GHD's full range of capabilities to our Metro Markets in Washington DC, Miami and Atlanta,

  • Grow effective relationships with key clients defined by winning new work
  • Manage and develop a robust Sales Pipeline to drive growth in GHD's Water Market
  • Implement short and long-term strategies that contribute to GHD's growth and profitability
  • Leveraging National and Global market knowledge to win new clients
  • Seamlessly collaborate with leadership and resources across GHD to bring solutions to clients
  • Actively participate in professional and/or industrial organizations to promote the GHD brand.
  • Work closely with Regional General Manager and US Market Leader to develop staffing plans based on forecasted market and project delivery needs.

Project Delivery Excellence:
  • Lead project teams across Southeast with a focus on delivery excellence, while maintaining a client facing role
  • Oversee the preparation and completion of major regional projects, and provide senior review of reports and engineering studies for various water projects
  • Serve as a relationship manager for GHDs external clients to internally represent and communicate their needs and support project delivery.

Skills, Experience and Qualification:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Minimum of 15 to 20 years of relevant experience with solid technical knowledge and skills across the water industry,
  • Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining a Water Practice at a metro or regional level
  • Collaborative Delivery experience with major Design Builders and Design Build Institute of America registration a plus

What you will bring to the team:
  • Demonstrated portfolio of State, Municipal, and agency water projects
  • Experience and familiarity with Metro area (Atlanta, Tampa, Miami, and Washington, DC) agency standards and protocols is preferred.
  • Strong leader, with the ability to collaborate with project staff and maintain a cohesive team environment
  • Ability to coach and mentor water team to technically strengthen the capabilities.
