Job Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Warranty Manager will lead a team of Warranty Engineers and Technicians to drive in-depth failure analysis. The Warranty Manager will maintain a process to determine root cause of warranty issues, implement containment and corrective actions, and prepare customer response. Ensure the warranty team monitors, tracks, analyzes and reports on warranty claim data in customer warranty systems and directly with customers on a regimented basis. The Warranty Manager will be responsible for working closely with our customers and the Magna Holly Business Units to ensure customer satisfaction concerning warranty performance. Serve as a liaison and coordinates activity of internal and external resources. Serve as a resource by providing a problem-solving function by initiating action to overcome obstacles as they are encountered and prevent potential warranty problems. Champion continuous improvement efforts. Research, recommend, implement and administer new and/or existing warranty processes. A knowledge of electronics and the warranty systems of Magna Electronics' main customers is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years' diverse professional and managerial experience including financial/budget responsibility, management leadership, and strategic decision making in a manufacturing environment.
  • Leadership and management skills in support of company management systems and philosophies. Must be able to develop and lead a cohesive team.
  • Ability to work with internal and external contacts at all levels within the organization. Able to represent the company in a professional manner with customers and suppliers.
  • Ability to predict and project data based on available sample data
  • Knowledge of Design/Process PFMEA and Manufacturing Control Plans.
  • Knowledge of OEM warranty systems including, PRAS, EWT, WIS, GART, Part Link, PRTS with a strong knowledge in Ford Warranty systems, AWS.
  • Strong Problem solving skills like 8D's 5whys, fishbone etc.
  • Ability to interpret warranty data from various customers.
  • Experience in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Proven experience working with cross functional teams to complete daily tasks and projects.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other employees.
  • Knowledge/experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise.


ROLE EXPECTATIONS
  • Provide leadership and direction for all members of the Warranty team, and coordinate the team's efforts within the division to achieve customer, and business, goals and objectives. Establish current and long range objectives, plans, and policies in support of division objectives, and direct resources to achieve objectives. Monitor performance against plan and ensures that goals are met.
  • Understand customer warranty agreements and requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate contact with customers to ensure that Warranty performance is meeting objectives. Responsible to assure that customer issues are appropriately championed to assure quick, accurate issue resolution and customer satisfaction with Magna Electronics' response.
  • Monitor team's progress of incoming warranty returned parts ensuring that customer response timing requirements are being met.
  • Assist in swift implementation of containment actions, engaging necessary Engineering or Manufacturing personnel.
  • Work with a team to generate problem solving reports (8D, 5Y, Fishbone, Is/Is not, etc.) that may be shared with internal or external customers.
  • Work directly with customers to report, problem solve and help reduce warranty concerns with end users of Magna produced products.
  • Generate warranty presentations for management and customers to increase awareness, establish priorities and get buy-in on appropriate actions.
  • Interface with Project Management, Engineering, and Quality as required, ensuring warranty issues are being addressed.
  • Participate in Business Unit design and manufacturing activities to ensure that all historical and current quality related information is closely monitored.
  • Work with Warranty Technicians and Engineers, as appropriate, to determine proper warranty analysis methods and review results.
  • Participate in CIP (Continuous Improvement Processes) activities. May work on projects involving cost reduction, warranty reduction, or evaluation of new equipment, etc.
  • Perform other duties as necessary in support of Quality Department.
  • Lead the review, tracking, and dispute of customer warranty chargebacks.
  • Maintain Paynter charts and other methods of tracking the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Work with the plant Finance team to set and maintain warranty accruals.
