The SchoolLethbridge Alternative Schools and Programs (LASP) is an umbrella grouping of schools that offer uniquely designed educational services to individuals within Lethbridge School Division and also to students across the Province who are supported within inter-ministerial, institutional programs. Administrators of LASP support a variety of programs and schools within their individual portfolios, with the largest population served at Victoria Park High School. An Outreach High School within the Division, Victoria Park is a welcoming and diverse learning community committed to providing deep care to the students and families it serves. It supports over 350 students from grades 10 to 12, with a focus on programs addressing a breadth of unique learning opportunities that encourage responsible choices within flexible learning environments, suited to all learning styles. Victoria Park High School strives to maximize individual potential with the goal of providing students with access to opportunities to experience education, work and life. At Victoria Park, high school students move forward on their individual paths, connecting value and purpose to their choices. Candidates applying for the role of Vice Principal of LASP will be asked to commit to supporting a rotation in the LASP Summer School Program which runs through the month of July each year.

- Demonstrate the ability to learn along with all staff, students, families and community stakeholders to further the learning priorities of the school;
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of innovative pedagogy and leading learning, including inquiry-based learning, comprehensive literacy and numeracy instruction;
- Have a commitment to inclusive and equitable learning opportunities for all students;
- Have a solid understanding of and commitment to Indigenous ways of knowing;
- Demonstrate a commitment to personal professional growth and reflection with a learner mindset;
- Have a deep understanding of the nature of learning, and how to strategically and successfully lead a learning community.
- Leadership experience in Outreach education would be considered an asset.
Requirements- Applicants must possess or be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
- Completion of or enrolled in both;
- Master's degree in education;
- Leadership Quality Standard certification.
- Exemplary teaching experience is necessary.
