POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe Vice President of Supply, Pricing & Risk Management is responsible for all fuel procurement, supply strategy, pricing management, market intelligence, supplier relationships, rack marketing, and risk management activities across ARG Petro. This executive role secures competitive fuel supply, optimizes margins, develops pricing strategies, manages market risk, and supports company growth throughout Texas and the Southwest.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead all fuel procurement and strategic sourcing activities.
- Negotiate fuel supply agreements, exchange agreements, rack agreements, and supplier contracts.
- Manage relationships with refiners, suppliers, terminal operators, and pipeline companies.
- Own all company pricing strategies and daily pricing decisions.
- Utilize OPIS, ARGUS, Platts, DTN, and market intelligence tools to support pricing and procurement decisions.
- Manage rack marketing opportunities across all terminals and supply points.
- Identify arbitrage, exchange, and supply optimization opportunities.
- Develop and oversee hedging and risk management programs.
- Monitor market exposure and protect company margins.
- Support sales teams with pricing strategy, market intelligence, and customer solutions.
- Provide market forecasts, profitability analysis, and strategic recommendations.
- Lead and develop the Supply and Pricing organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Energy Management, Supply Chain, Petroleum Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in fuel procurement, supply management, pricing, trading, risk management, or petroleum marketing.
- Proven ability to improve margins and develop successful commercial strategies.
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES- Extensive knowledge of Texas and Southwest fuel markets.
- Advanced understanding of OPIS, ARGUS, Platts, DTN, pricing methodologies, and market analytics.
- Experience with hedging, futures, swaps, options, and risk management programs.
- Strong understanding of pipelines, terminal operations, logistics, and exchange agreements.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed to work with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Attention to detail is essential to complete this job on a day-to-day basis.
- Experience in fuel and/or logistics industry.
- Bilingual a plus.
PHYSICAL AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS- Occasional travel to company locations, mainly in Texas.
- Ability to sit and work at a keyboard for extended periods of time.
- Must be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment including computer, office equipment, telephone, etc.
