The Vice President, M&A is responsible for shaping and delivering the company's global inorganic growth agenda in a disciplined, repeatable, and value-accretive way.
This role leads the full M&A lifecycle, spanning strategic pipeline development, target identification, transaction execution, governance, and post-deal integration oversight. Working in close partnership with the Executive Management Team, Divisional leaders, and Group functions, the VP M&A ensures that acquisitions, minority investments, and strategic partnerships enhance our technology leadership, strengthen our market position, and support sustainable EBITDA growth.
As a trusted advisor to Executive Committee sponsors and the Board, the VP M&A provides expert guidance on all aspects of inorganic growth, helping to shape strategic decisions that accelerate the company's ambitions.
What you'll be doing:- Define and deliver a clear, prioritized M&A strategy aligned to growth ambitions and portfolio evolution
- Identify, assess, and prioritize high-value acquisition, investment, and partnership opportunities
- Build and sustain a strong global pipeline, balancing immediate bolt-ons with transformational opportunities
- Partner with Divisional and functional leaders to originate opportunities and align on strategic fit
- Lead end-to-end deal execution with pace, rigor, and commercial discipline
- Shape compelling investment cases, valuations, and deal structures that drive shareholder value
- Negotiate transactions to achieve optimal strategic, financial, and risk-adjusted outcomes.
- Ensure robust governance, enabling confident, high-quality Executive and Board decision-making
- Direct comprehensive due diligence to surface risks, validate assumptions, and protect value
- Ensure integration readiness pre-signing, with clear synergy targets and execution plans.
- Oversee post-close performance and value realization, holding teams accountable to investment outcomes
- Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Team and Board on inorganic growth, portfolio strategy, and deal risk
About you:- Significant senior-level M&A experience within corporate development, private equity, investment banking, or strategy
- Proven track record leading multiple end-to-end transactions, from origination through execution and integration oversight
- Strong financial acumen, with deep expertise in valuation, investment case development, and synergy modelling
- Demonstrated experience advising and working closely with Executive Teams and Boards on high-value strategic transactions
- Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Science, or a related field
- Advanced capability in financial analysis and strategic decision-making, developed through both academic and professional experience
- Experience in industrial technology, analytical instrumentation, or related science-based sectors
- Exposure to both bolt-on and transformational deals within global, matrixed organizations.
- Practical experience in post-merger integration and value realization
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification from a leading international business school
- Formal training in corporate finance, strategy, or M&A
- Board-level exposure or understanding of corporate governance practices
